I used it for a year for Ibs symptoms, I then tried leaving off for a month or so and then used it again. It made no difference, Dr. Said it was good and to keep taking it. I'm afraid I declined as I had read that it stopped your body retaining iron an other vitamins.

I didn't feel a lot of benefit from these tablets and won't continue to take them after I have finished the course. I would only recommend them if I thought they might be of use and the person was suffering from acidity. June Jackson

Profile

Omeprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Omeprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
